a wf guide Empty a wf guide

Post  sibz Mon Aug 17, 2009 9:22 pm

this is a guide written by a friend who was in my guild in perfectworeld my (neph) not sure if its any good but i thought i should post it anyway

First things first - through the first part of the game you will be a caster only. You will almost completely ignore the right side of your skill tree - giving you ample SP to be good at what you do - using your spells and pets.

Later - once you have all of that down (say lvl 70-80 range - but prolly starting with Maim round 50) - you can add Battle Fox abilities to support your teams and be more versatile.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ARMOR and STATS

For the better part - if not all your career - you will be using Mage type armor.
For many reasons: You don't get hit (usually) - You are a caster (focus on INT) - Sooner you max your EQ stats the sooner you can add more HPs (lowest HP class)
    - REVISED! -
Rather than max EQ stats 1st - add CON whenever you can while still keeping stats for EQ ready for next set - why? - once u start in HH and harder FBs and such bosses AOE (usually Phys dmg) and you will die with low hps (use fox vs phys aoe boss - will help alot)

    CON: 155 (add whenever possible)
INT: 300 (what is needed for best weapons and armor)
STR: 55 (what is needed for best weapons and armor)
AGL: 5 (do not need it at all)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Skills

    Mage tree attack skills

Envenom Parasite: Max it - your default attack skill

Ironrock Parasite: Max it - Fairly heavy nuke with P Def debuff

Blazing Parasite: Level 1 only - DoTs are crap - does make a good pull spell
..however if left at lvl 1 (as the dmg is so low) it is basically 0 aggro.

Frostbolt Parasite: Level 1 only - Way too much fury for lil bang

Mass Parasite: Max it - Decent AOE nuke w/ DoT - good for vigor building

Megalith Parasite: Max it - Your Stun / Interrupt

Parasite Nova: Level 1 - Max Later if you like - has nice AOE stun - but heavy
..Fury cost and slow cast time makes it...dubious at best

Wood Mastery: Max it - Adds dmg all the time - can't ask for more.

    Mage Tree Miscellaneous Skills

Bramble guard: Level 1 - Max it around 59 if you can for the next skill - you
..should not be in melee range! - tank buff skill...bah see next skill

Bramble Array: Get it! - 75% dmg reduce + 200% reflect

Metabolic Boost: Max it - 50% self HP heal at max

Divine Supplements: Max it - 50% self MP heal at max

Vigor Switch: Get it! - give 1 Fury to target - helps tank keep aggro

    Fox Tree Miscellaneous Skills

Fox Form: Max it - 120% P Def buff - good for travel and getaways

Banish Malediction: Max it when u start to add Battle Fox skills - removes all
..buffs from target - helps keep bosses under control

Amplify Maim: Max it soon as HH is on your agenda - makes all atks 20% more
..effective - your primary reason for being around

Soul Degeneration: Honestly have not an opinion yet...

Crush Vigor: PVP stuff - your call

    Fox Tree Attack Skills

Foxy Drub: Level 1 only - too damn slow - and mages wear robes...just kill them

Hexmist Attack: Max it when you add Battle Fox skills - AOE (fan) with Acc
    ..debuff

Enlace Drub: Max it when you add Battle Fox skills - Root - save allies - run
    ..away - or PVP stuff

Life Depriver: Max it when you add Battle Fox skills - HP Heal 4tw

Consume Spirit: Level 1 only - too little effect

Malefic Crush: Level 1 only - too much Fury

Melee Mastery: Max it when you add Battle Fox skills - more dmg 4tw

    Skills Usable in Either Form

Swimming Mastery: Get it - why not?

Intersoul Switch: Get it - switch HP and MP - 2 hp bars or 2 mp bars depending
..on your needs - use the self heals to compensate after use

Celerity Wind Walk: Max it - faster is always better

    Pet-Related Skills

    Pet Heal: Max it

Pet Revive: Level 1 only - only gets faster

Pet Taming: Level 1 only - you can only use pets your lvl anyway - at equal
..lvl the difficulty is green anyway

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
